What is HDTV?

HDTV (High Definition Television) is a whole new way to enjoy TV. An image on an ordinary TV screen is made up of small rectangles known as "pixels." The more pixels, the sharper the picture. Standard non-HDTV sets have 480 lines of resolution, while HDTVs have 720 horizontal lines or more, which means HDTV sets have up to 6 times the sharpness of analog TVs, and twice the color resolution. In many cases the HDTV screen shape is closer to what you find in a movie theater. It can also have enhanced audio features, like Dolby Digital. Click here to learn even more.
