There are no graphics, closed captions, or Program Guides appearing on the TV screen.

 
1. The set-top box cannot generate graphics on all video outputs at all times. If the set-top box is set to 1080i, 720p, or 480p output format, then graphics will only be available on the High Definition video outputs (DVI and component video). If the set-top box is set to 480i, then graphics will be available on all video outputs.

2. If the set-top box is connected to a standard definition (SD) TV, make sure that it’s configured to use the 480i output mode. You do this by turning off the DVR and then pressing the "Menu" button on the DVR. Use the left and right arrows on the set-top box remote to select "480i."

3. Verify that closed captions on the set-top box have been enabled in the User Settings menu. You do this by turning off the DVR and then pressing the "Menu" button on the left and rightr arrows to select "Enabled".
