Insight Communications Announces new District Vice President in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, IL. – November 02, 2004 –
Insight Communications (NASDAQ: ICCI) has appointed Jon Danielsen to the position of district vice president in its Springfield, Ill. system, effective immediately. Scott Cooley, Insight’s senior vice president, operations, made the announcement.
Danielsen will oversee Insight’s operations in the Springfield, Ill. area, serving approximately 140,000 customers. He most recently served as vice president and general manager for RCN, Inc.’s Chicago market. He previously held positions with RCN as vice president and general manager in Philadelphia and vice president, customer care in Princeton, N.J. He has also held customer service and operations management positions at cable operator Tele-Communications, Inc. in Wilmington, Del. and Kingston, N.Y.
"Jon brings to Insight his considerable experience in cable operations and management of telephone, video and cable modem products," said Cooley. "We were also impressed by his extensive customer care expertise, and feel he will be a valuable addition in this regard not only to our Springfield market but also to the company as a whole as we continue to focus on our commitment to our customers."
Prior to his career in the cable industry, Danielsen held various positions in consumer electronics and finance. He received a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Virginia Tech.
