Motorola Celebrates Latest Broadband Industry Milestone - 20 Million Digital Set-Tops Shipped - at NCTA Cable 2002
NEW ORLEANS – May 06, 2002 –
Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) Broadband Communications Sector will celebrate a major industry milestone today at the National Cable and Telecommunications Association's (NCTA) Cable 2002 - the cable and telecommunications industry's most prestigious convention. Motorola Broadband recently became the first and only supplier to ship 20 million digital set-top terminals.
To commemorate this landmark shipment, Motorola Broadband president Dave Robinson, along with Carl McGrath, corporate vice president and general manager of the digital consumer gateways business, will present Michael Willner, chairman of the NCTA, with a trophy and a special-edition silver Motorola DCT2000 digital set-top. The presentation will take place at Motorola's NCTA Booth #1623, on Monday, May 6 at 3:00 p.m.
Willner was selected to receive the commemorative award in recognition of his contributions to the broadband-cable industry in his role as chairman of the NCTA while also leading Insight Communications, one of the United States' leading cable operators and deployers of interactive digital technology.
