Insight Midwest Concludes Acquisition of Greenwood, Indiana Cable System

New York – January 11, 2001 –

Insight Midwest, LP concluded the acquisition of the Greenwood cable system, also serving the communities of Bargersville, Whiteland, New Whiteland, and Johnson County. Cable One, a subsidiary of the Washington Post Company, formerly owned the system.

Insight Midwest is a 50-50 joint venture between Insight Communications and AT&T Broadband. As the managing partner in the joint venture, Insight will oversee all operations of the system for the 15,000 local customers. The system will be integrated into Insight’s existing Indiana operations, where the company is the largest operator in the state with 450,000 customers in owned or managed systems.

Colaluca noted that an assessment of the cable system will soon get underway to determine the timeframe for the planned upgrade that will provide advanced broadband services such as interactive digital cable and high-speed cable modem service.
